This is an outdoor camera intended for scouting in extreme conditions. Capable of shooting video as well as still pictures, the model has very good reviews on Amazon, and I found myself agreeing that it’s a great buy for the money when I took a look at its features myself.
Benefits of SENWOW
- Wide Angle Design
The SENWOW 12MP 1080P HD Game and Trail Hunting Camera is able to monitor an area with a 120-degree field of view, meaning that you’re able to capture more of the landscape in front of the camera. Many other models that are similarly priced have more limited fields of view, coming in somewhere between 90 and 100 degrees. The large view gives the camera more periphery and makes you less likely to miss animals visiting your scouting area.
- Ultra Durable
While most trail cameras are weather resistant, the SENWOW 12MP 1080P HD Game and Trail Hunting Camera is built tougher than other similarly priced cameras. Not only is its housing waterproof with an IP54 rating, but it also is shock proof, anti-corrosive and dust proof to protect the camera inside. It can operate at temperatures as low as -4 degrees Fahrenheit and as hot as 140 degrees Fahrenheit for use in every season.
- Smart IR Filter
The SENWOW 12MP 1080P HD Game and Trail Hunting Camera has a smart infrared filter that is unlikely to be triggered by blowing leaves and moving branches. This helps to extend the battery life by only engaging the camera when there is something worth shooting.
In terms of how well it performs, the cam has a pretty flawless design. Its image quality is very high, and for a camera with so many features, it’s surprisingly easy to use.
The only real drawback to the unit in my opinion is its housing. While it is resistant to dust, corrosion and rain, the color on the unit is a little odd. Like most trail cameras, the model is meant to be camouflaged to blend in with its surroundings; however, the case is very green with very little brown. In very thick green brush, it will blend in nicely, but in other areas where trees have very tall branches and there is limited brush, it will stand out.
Basically, you need the right environment to use it if you’re concerned with how discreet it is. For some people, whether or not the camera is obvious may not matter at all.
When you consider the price of the device, it’s pretty amazing how many features it has. Other models that sell for a higher price and have the same 12-megapixel resolution have fewer selling points than this one. As a result, I would strongly recommend it for anyone who wants the features of a mid-range to high-end hunting cam but wants to spend as little as possible. You even get a 32 GB SD card!
